There's no getting around the fact that most of us tend to pay a lot of attention to celebrities. Probably more than we should, in fact. However, when you consider the big picture, most celebrities - despite seeming to have everything they could want in life - are no different than everyone else. Just like everyone else, they have both admirable and not-so-admirable qualities and characteristics.
Many celebrities, for instance, are known to be exceptionally rude people. They are mean to almost everyone they encounter, including their most ardent fans. This is most surprising when it comes from actors who are known for playing good-natured characters on television or in movies. A prime example would be Andy Griffith, whose reputation in real life was widely known to be - in many ways - the exact opposite of the affable characters he played, like small-town sheriff Andy Taylor played on The Andy Griffith Show, or southern lawyer Matlock.
Running counter to this is the fact that many celebrities are known for having very kind dispositions and for being nice people. These are the stars who are never too busy to sign an autograph or shake a fan's outstretched hand. One celebrity with a well-deserved reputation for being an all-around nice guy is actor Will Smith. Despite being one of the biggest (and most bankable) stars in Hollywood, he has seemingly stayed grounded. In fact, both he and his wife Jada are noted for their many charitable contributions.
Finally, there are quite a few celebrities who are surprisingly bright in the area of intellect. In fact, some that you might least suspect have frighteningly high IQs. Chief among them is action hero Dolph Lundgren. Not only does Dolph have an undergraduate and master's degree in Chemical Engineering, he also received a Fulbright Scholarship to M.I.T.! He left shortly thereafter to make movies, but there's no question that the guy is smart.
In retrospect, it's easy to see that celebrities are simply people like everyone else. There will be nice celebrities, mean celebrities smart celebrities, and everything in between. We just happen to see their personalities being broadcast as opposed to kept private.
