Learning About Old Mystery TV Shows

By Christa Jarvis

Human beings living in the 70's and 80's had the opportunity to watch the best programs that were readily available. The old mystery tv shows were always entertaining and many of them were often featured during the night hours. "Miss Marple, " "The X-Files, " "Josie And The Pussycats, " "Scooby-Doo, " "Unsolved Mysteries" and many more were viewed by the average American person.

Miss Marple was one cool character who could be seen every Saturday night on a Public Broadcasting Station within America. Agatha Christie struck pure gold when she created this versatile character who could always solve any crime which happened. Everyone around knew that Joan Hickson portrayed this lovable and energetic older woman.

After she died another woman took over the role but she was not as good as Ms. Hickson. Miss Marple was always solving strange mysteries each week and sometimes she even placed her own life in danger. This older character would receive great assistance from the police inspector who worked for Scotland Yard.

People who were interested in real life cases often tuned into the television series "Unsolved Mysteries" which ran on NBC for a period of time. Robert Stack was the good looking actor who hosted this spectacular event and he would inform everyone about the latest crimes that were happening. The show even helped the police capture real life criminals who were still on the run. At times Mr. Stack's daughter would help him co-host this special television series.

A large canine called "Scooby-Doo" was very popular during the late 60's and early 70's. He was a likable mutt who always seemed to be afraid of his very own shadow. His owner was a groovy tall guy named Shaggy and he was just as greedy as Scooby. Boys all around the globe enjoyed looking at the very lovely woman named Daphne who was also featured on the program. Women who were watching this series were thrilled to see the handsome cartoon character called Fred.

"Josie And The Pussycats" were always ready to sing a great tune while they were chasing after criminals. The series focused on a different crime each week and the viewers found each character fascinating. Josie was the lead singer in this all girl group and she was truly a nice person. Unfortunately Alexandra Cabot was jealous of her and she did not like the relationship which Josie and Alan shared. Valerie also proved to be a unique character since she was the real brain of the group.

People who liked to be scared easily would find themselves watching a program called "The X-Files." Many supernatural events happened within the show each and every week. On one episode a woman was married to a demonic male who could change his form at any time.

FOX Television was lucky to have this hit series over the airwaves. It was also quite interesting that the lead male character became obsessed with dirty movies while his female counterpart was really uptight. All of the people living in America had the chance to learn about ghostly events while this show was on.
