Things To Know About 3d Tv Prices

By Neene Baker

3D television sets are a huge trend these days. But are these TVs reasonably priced? How much does 3D TV cost? In order to understand why 3d tv prices are different, it would be best to learn more about the technology first. 3D, as most well know, is a generic term used for the technology which allows people to watch movies or shows whilst using what we call a stereoscopic effect. This stereoscopic effect gives viewers the illusion of a third dimension or giving the images depth which, in 2D, was limited to height and width.

And there is another question about 3d TVs you should ask about. Will you still be able to play or watch video games, movies and TV shows in 2D? The answer is all dependent on the kind of TV you will buy, but most probably, yes. In addition,TV manufacturers like Sony, Toshiba or Samsung have integrated converters so users can easily watch and play movies, shows and video games in 3D that have been converted from 2D.

Now, 3D TVs are considered to be high end products and so, it is understandable that they cost more. Most of the 3d tv sales that you see will have prices around two to three hundred dollars more than for a non-3D TV but since these TVs come with additional features, the increase is warranted. Expect to pay around $1500-$1700 minimum for these powerhouses although you can find cheaper ones among the earlier models .

Thankfully, there are also affordable alternatives. For example, in its efforts to introduce and sell several units in the US market, Panasonic is offering its 3D TVs by up to half the original price. It has been said that such TVs cost up to fifty percent lower than prices in Japan.

But what are the use of 3D TVs without the glasses? Manufacturers such as Panasonic and Samsung sell these glasses for around $150 for every pair and of course, you need one for each person. So say you buy a 58 - inch 3D TV for roughly, three thousand dollars and you're a family of four, you can expect to cough up $3600 for the TV AND the glasses.

Understand that these are simply approximations of what these TVs cost as each manufacturer offers their products at different prices and well, they change quite often, too. This is to simply give you an idea of how much of an investment these TVs are. Be sure to shop around and set a budget for your purchase and stick to it.
