Easy Ways To Create A Superhero Birthday Party NJ Kids Will Love

By Daniel Edwards

Small children are true believers, and most of them have fictional heroes they love and want to be just like. Kids have no trouble imagining themselves gliding through the clouds, leaping over skyscrapers, and receiving medals of honor for defending their cities and fellow citizens from evil doers. They will spend countless hours fascinated by the film versions of their favorite stories. This is the time when a superhero birthday party NJ parents are considering will work beautifully.

If you have a middletown NJ child who loves to dress up and pretend to be a certain character, it shouldn't be hard to create a themed event around the special powers, costumes, and traits of this fictional personality. It doesn't have to be extremely expensive or elaborate to be successful. Party supply stores are full of well priced favors, decorations and face paint that can help you create the perfect atmosphere.

You don't even need a sewing machine for some cloth remnants and velcro, or ribbon for ties, to become a hero's cape. Scissors, a needle and thread or tape, is all you really need. Create the character's hometown by painting a simple scene on rolls of paper and attaching it to a wall. An old boom box can provide great sound effects and shaded lights will create a spooky atmosphere.

Adults can make great villains with some makeup, a costume, a weapon, and padding if necessary. With a little prodding, dads may be enticed to recreate whole confrontations between the good guys and the bad guys that children will love participating in. It might be advisable to move any battles, wars, and chases to the backyard in order to protect the interior of your home from total destruction.

Most of the popular heroes have alter egos they present to the public so their true identities remain secret. Consider setting up an area with a curtain for children to hide behind and change identities with simple accessories like oversize glasses and ties. You will probably find a multitude of games in keeping with your super power theme that you can modify if necessary depending on the ages and personalities of the party goers.

A lot of young children have peddle and even battery operated play vehicles you could transform into famous cars with super power engines and special effects. Green face paint can alter your little ones into powerful hulks, and an aluminum covered cardboard helmet will make an iron man out of your shiest guest.

Most powerful heroes use protective equipment and weaponry to help ward off the bad guys. If you are considering these props with the costumes, it would be a good idea to give parents of invited children some advance warning. You might also suggest that their children come casually attired so they can easily change into the costumes you have prepared.

Your child's birthday should be something he or she looks forward to and enjoys planning with you. While water slides and bounce houses are a lot of fun, and children love them, a good old fashioned party full of pretend might be even more enjoyable.
