The Role Of Donor Recognition Walls

By Iva Cannon

In the recent past, there has been an increase in the number of projects taking place aimed at helping the societies we live in. Most of these projects are non-profit generating and they include schools, hospitals, community halls, libraries among many others. As a way of showing appreciation to the people who played a great role in contributing the funds required putting up the public facilities, their names are written on the buildings that are set up. This makes the use of donor recognition walls very important today.

Various designs can be used to display the relevant information relating to the organizations that played a role in the establishment of projects. The difference in the information written varies depending on the organizations. However some information is usually common in nearly all the display walls. This information includes the names of the founders, the year of opening up of the structure and the person who opened it.

In the old architecture, the blocks were made from large stones and a written piece of brass metal was mounted on the stone to indicate the relevant data. In the current world, the use of stones has been replaced by use of LCD screens and projectors on which the data is being put up for display. They are fitted on strategic points within the building that enhance viewing by many people.

The organizations goals and missions differ according to their objectives of their operations. Thus the information put up for viewing by different companies differ on this basis. The type of information to be posted determines whether the use of graphics is necessary or not. This enables the choosing of an appropriate method.

The amount of data to be posted determines the space it will occupy on a certain block. In places where detailed data and use of large images is important, large parts are selected to ensure all the data is well accommodated. Small data can be painted at smaller portions on the wall where they are clearly seen.

It has been established that the cost of designing these materials is quite cheap and therefore affordable by many groups of people. The more complex and large structures are however quite expensive as compared to simple and less complicated ones. There maintenance costs are also very minimal making them very suitable.

The display units should be set up at points that are easily seen by the people visiting the building that was build using donors support. They can be put at the entrance points to the building or at the reception offices where many people pass through. In some special cases they can be cemented at a strategic point near the house to ensure visibility by people visiting the place at any time. This ensures that the information regarding the intentions of the group can reach a wide population as possible.

The use of these platforms has increased the awareness of such organizations to a majority of people thus promoting their reputation. They also have an aesthetic beauty impact on the buildings on which they are used. It is therefore recommendable to increase the use of these donor walls.
