The Role Of Advanced Color Theory

Many objects on this world appear differently. The difference comes about by use of many dyes available to paint them making each look unique. Many dyes have been manufactured over time and stocked in the market for sale. Preparation of these paints requires the technicians in charge of the entire process to be knowledgeable. A very useful part that any person should be conversant with is advanced color theory that enables formation of new inks.

Studies on colors begun long times ago. Recent studies by theories are more like the previous ones only for a few adjustments that have been made. Scientists did their research and came up with two major branches of paints that all paints in the world fall in. These were primary and secondary categories. The primary category composed of only green, red and blue which were widely used to develop this theory.

The other category composed of several dyes that are initially made from the primary ones. They include magenta, cyan, and yellow among others. It is important to note that the dyes included in this category do not originally exist. They are formed from the primary dyes through mixing of different paints in some set ratios.

Some assumptions have been made by theorists who developed this mode. One of these assumptions is that all inks are possible to mix. Failure of these inks to mix uniformly has been attributed to some conditions such as impurities in the inks and imperfection of colorants. In the real sense only primary inks can mix uniformly to give rise to new pigmentation.

The vision formed when we look at different objects was found to be influenced by the light reflected to our eyes from the objects. This leads to formation of visions that gives the brain the perception on the general appearance of certain objects. Theorists found that light from the inside of an object tend to display green characteristic while that reflected from the upper side has magenta traits. This is what influences how we interpret visions.

In order for painters to perform quality work in painting, they should have prior knowledge on different colors. This enables them to come up with paints of desired pigmentation that will produce good results. This plays an advantageous role where more paints can be made from the present ones without necessarily going for new ones.

Some traits were found to be unique for different paints. One of this trait is ability to give off light. Light colored paints have high reflective ability thus they appear brighter. Dull colored paints absorb more light and reflect less. To increase the amount reflected they are combined with white which is very reflective.

Different paints have different levels of saturation. This is defined as a measure of how a color appears when illuminated with a special light. This is conducted to find out which paints appear closely related to grey. Those which are more like grey are termed as unsaturated while the rest are said to be saturated.
