By Katina Brady

This is basically a type of music that has its origins from the African-American community during the late 19th century and early twentieth century. As the years passed by, it spread across many nations of the world and in relation to the different cultures that exist, diverse styles of this music were hence developed hence creating variety. Below is a lay down of information concerning jazz music.

Early forms of compositions such as the blues helped in coming up with this type of euphony. Others are work songs which the slaves used to hum to during their times in the field when they used to be forced to work for the white settlers. They acted as motivation songs during this period of time.

Another aspect of this type of music is that it heavily relies upon contribution by a group of people, their collaboration and how they interact. It hence mainly emphasizes on team work for the purpose of realizing great success. This means that the performer will interpret the tune to the very best of his ability never making a mistake of playing the same composition in the exact same tune twice.

Depending on the mood of the performer, his experience in this field over the years and also based on how he interacts with fellow musicians and the members of audiences, he may choose to add some melodies of his own just to add flavor and originality to his performance on stage and this highly improve the reception of this composition.

It is very important to appreciate ones a culture. This shows a sense of belonging and for this reason, jazz is highly loved by members of the black American community because through the songs, they are able to reflect upon their lives and silently give thanks to their ancestors for being brave enough to fight for their freedom and giving them the peace that they so music enjoy.

However, not all the people have the same mentality when it comes too jazz, in fact, some highly despise it as it acts as a painful reminder to the former years. During those times of slave hood, a lot of blood was shed and a great deal of suffering was experienced hence they rather not join the multitudes of people in commemorating such past memories.

Among the main challenges affecting this industry is the changing times. The world is changing at a very fast rate and so is the audience. The young generation is not much involved in this type of euphony anymore and if efforts are not made to revive it will be lost. This is the reason why it is being offered in schools as a career for those fellows who want to try their luck in this arena.

In conclusion, jazz is a very unique type of music and though it has its origin in the olden days, it s very interesting and people should be advised to look into it and embrace it. Technology has played a hand in this by providing access in the various social media sites and other websites such as YouTube. This is because culture should always be conserved at all means possible.
