The Basics Of Abstract Watercolor Painting

By Eliza Mendoza

Abstract watercolor painting refers to the art of using colors that are water based so as to express oneself or send a message and it uses lines. For abstraction, the main aim is pass on a message with a visual language. The different designs that are created with the involvement of abstraction appear luminous and transparent and this happens because of the very few types of filler in the pigments used that obscure the colors.

The artists who involve themselves with this practice often have a non-conforming attitude when dealing with art. They normally pose a challenge of giving interpretations of figures that have no particular form. As a result, the person will give deep thought to that situation and try to figure out what it really means for him or her.

The materials required to begin this process are not expensive and they can be easily acquired. You will need a variety of special paints, a piece of paper that is compatible with those paints, a pencil and paintbrushes. This piece of art also requires a good amount of time as you give deep thought to every piece. It can be done by all types of artists including seasoned and students.

Abstract watercolor painting will normally accept anything. However, all types of arts do so but it is very important that you learn as much as you can concerning the art instead of just undertaking it. Various visual factors such as color and the physical form help the artist to bring out the best paintings. It so happens with abstraction that the reality of the images is removed from the art piece. It can be done partially, slightly or completely.

The technique is regarded as a vague one. The viewer will interpret what he sees for himself and will the choose what to think about it himself. The act is viewed as a fun one and this could explain why so many people who do it love it and continue to do it. Anyone can test their level of creativity by sketching anything on a piece of paper and with a pencil.

Anything you sketch on the paper appears on the paper like a normal drawing. The moment your paintbrush comes into contact with the paper, the paint penetrates and causes an illusion. The aim of the artist is to now make that illusion to look three dimensional. This effect is what every artist tries to achieve so as to please those viewing his art work.

Doing this helps the image to appear realer than it initially was. This is a skill that calls for a lot of practicing though. It is important that every artist learns and improves their skill. People tend to think that this field is easy but that is not the case because special training and practice is required to create perfection. This can be done online or in art stores where you can find an expert to enlighten you more. Watching videos produced for this purpose could also play a great role in imparting such knowledge.

If you are under stress, you can release it thanks to abstract watercolor painting. Feelings which remain in the mind and are not let out are a major cause of stress. People with such problems are advised to draw or paint their feelings as this acts as a means of letting them out.
