The Life And Times Of Viktor Schauberger

By Tisha Greer

Throughout history, there are a number of unsung geniuses who sought to innovate peoples lives and the life on the planet. One of them is Viktor Schauberger, a formally uneducated but well read man who spent the most part of his life observing nature and learning from it. His applications and insights have so much beauty in their simplicity and so harmonious with nature that his ideas and works deserve much more recognition. In fact, this planet is desperate for inventions based on technology such as Viktors to become the industry norm.

Born in Austria on 30th June 1885, Viktor hailed from a family made up of foresters. His dad, granddad, great grandfather and those before him all were forest wardens. As a child, he displayed notable interest in nature and all things related to it. From the background he grew in, he learnt the importance of trusting his intuitive awareness and observations in a similar way his fathers were.

From his adult life researches, Viktor got the ability to explain the significance of the properties of water. In addition, he devised numerous methods for maintaining water at its optimum vitality and purity level. Viktor observed the underlining pattern in the universe originating from two polarities. He saw how water moved and swirled naturally in creeks and streams.

Through observing the manner in which free-flowing natural water usually turn in an expanding and tightening vortex pattern, Viktor ended up with several ideas. One of them is that the two polarities that can be seen in the spiral patterns of nature make up the necessities of life. Life takes place in an expanding spiral going upwards, then reduces while decreasing in the receding opposite spiral. Viktor came to a conclusion that in nature, the forces will always cooperate in harmony, creating the foundations of life.

Viktor later applied these observations in initiating designs for generating motion and power. The designs worked harmoniously with nature in that they did not produce emissions that were toxic. He was of the opinion that nature is the foremost teacher, and hence the work of technology was not to correct nature but to copy it.

Later in his career, Viktor studied how the declination of River Rhine occurred, concluding that it showed the effects of deforestation and convection water regulation. All the mistreated and degenerated rivers found today were initially mighty rivers that were so crystal clear that a depth of several meters could be observed on them.

Degeneration of river Rhine started with the cutting down of the Swiss Alps in the area that was the Rhine source. This disturbed the ecological balance, causing the river to start silting up. In order increase the speed of the flow of water and make it possible for the river to clear off its path, bends and meanders were straightened.

It is quite sad that the brilliance of Viktor Schauberger was seen as a threat to powers running the society together with the corporate ideologies dictating it. The life works and patents he worked so hard for were sighed over under intimidation to people who discarded what could be used for good, while the rest was exploited for greed.
