Online DVD Rental - How It Works

By Allan Marsh

If you've been a member of a DVD rental store, then you know how it works. You visit the store, you choose a DVD from the store's selection, then you watch it at home. But when you forget to return the video to the store, then that's when the problem starts. Your fun movie evening becomes expensive because you had to pay the late fees.

But you no longer have to put up with the hassle of DVD rental stores because now you can rent DVDs online.

It's simple how online DVD companies work. You pay a monthly fee when you sign up for the service. When it comes to the fees, it would depend on how many DVDs you want to have. The average is a maximum of two to three DVDs.

You need to prepare your list of DVDs once you have your account set up. It's easy compiling your DVD list from all the DVDs that have ever been released. You'll probably have a few old favorites, as well as a few new releases to keep a nice balance. Depending the mood you're in, you can also change the order of your list around. They mail the DVDs to you when the system selects the first DVDs that are available from your list.

To mail the DVD back to company once you've watched it, place it in the pre-paid envelope that it came with. After that, the company will send you another one from your list. It is as simple as that. Since keeping a particular DVD has no time limit, this means that there are also no late fees. Many of the services have a mix and match type of facility where you can specify the genre of the films that you want to have. This helps ensure that you don't have all horror movies or all children's at one time. Your service might also have a first-to-last feature to enable you to watch a series of films in the order that they were made. You wouldn't want to watch The Ring 2, before The Ring, for example.
