Fano Guitars -Vintage Image With Cutting-edge Sound

By Lance Sermons

Vintage visual appeal with the features and sound of future guitars. Thats the technique of guitar master builder Dennis Fano for his Alt de Facto series.

It's actually not a worry to distinguish the electric guitar created by Fano. Fano guitars are inspired by the classic look of American guitars in the 1950's combined by the features and sound of the future.

This is the design philosophy of the master builder himself for all of his latest models. The options are not just any feature included in other models. Each guitar has custom future-inspired features and a unique classic look of every distressed guitar with time-tested materials.

For the Alt de Facto series, Fano uses alder, swamp ash or mahogany materials which have been time-tested, vintage materials that will get even better after some time and age. These are mixed with twenty-first century features for example the compound radius fingerboard, custom wound Fralin pickups including TonePros and Gotoh hardware. Most of these designs have been custom-made to form different tones for different types of music.

Maybe it's a mix and match approach which surprisingly was discovered as an unprecedented combination of exactly what players need on a guitar - from the comfortable contours which make it not hard to sling around the shoulders, to the distressed aesthetics that immortalize the classic feel, to the tones that produce 21th century or modern sound.

This is often their concept behind the Fano Sphears creation. What they aim to for these particular models is to try to make the appearance remain unaltered when electric guitars came to be. The futuristic aesthetics and materials with vintage accent are rolled into a single guitar - the Sphears.

These designs are meant to be simple to operate and future-gadgets friendly. The inspiration for the futuristic look and tone were obtained from the artistry of notable guitar builders Dan Armstrong and Nathan Daniel.

Fano regarded sphears as a retro-futuristic invention employing the blend of classic solid maple and rosewood materials in addition to acrylic body core and anodized aluminium tone plates. Their aim for any retro-futuristic instrument is to make it a good instrument for every artist.

Both models have quite possibly the most advanced features, highly innovative electronics but one mark of Fano remains very recognizable - the design and style philosophy that immortalizes the craftsmanship of classic American electric guitars. These traits make each product extraordinary.
