Robin Williams And His Greatest Acting Performances In Years Past

By Matthew Harris

It goes without saying that Robin Williams has an quite the successful career. He has had more than his fair share of successful comedies, as well as been able to successfully pull off dramatic films, something many comedies fail at. He even has an Academy Award to his name.

The following films are what I consider to be the best movies of Robin Williams' illustrious career.

One movie that undoubtedly makes the list is Mrs. Doubtfire. Who knew Robin Williams could successfully pull off the part of a female British nanny? This is a classic comedy that also stars Sally Field and Pierce Brosnan.

Another film that certainly makes the cut for me is Aladdin. Sure, this is an animated film, but it is definitely one of my favorite Disney movies of all time. Williams voices Genie, which I didn't know until recently.

One movie that has to be included on this list, and is probably my favorite of any on this list, is Good Will Hunting. This movie stars Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Minnie Driver and of course, Robin Williams. Williams won a best supporting actor Oscar for this film, as did Damon and Affleck for best original screenplay.

Dead Poet's Society is another movie that I highly recommend. To say this is an inspirational movie is an understatement. Films like Dangerous Minds, Freedom Writers and the like would not exist without Dead Poet's Society.

The final film that I will discuss is The Birdcage. This movie plays out like a theatrical performance, which very well might have been their intention. It is hilarious and Williams is fantastic as the part of Armand Goldman.

As it stands, this is my Robin Williams best-of list.
