In addition to that, movies with fresh themes require young artists. Currently there are several new artists who have met with success in conventional Bollywood films.
One among Bollywood's much liked chocolate boy, Shahid Kapoor entertained everybody with his performance in Ishq Vishk Pyaar Vyaar released in 2003. Several his later films flopped and it was through Jab We Met starring Kareena Kapoor that his career met with success. The talented young actor proved that he could hold his own in the critically acclaimed hit Kaminey. His upcoming Hindi movies are Milenge Milenge along side Kareena Kapoor and Mausam along side Sonam Kapoor, his father's directorial debut.
Debonair and enigmatic, Ranbir Kapoor, the son of popular star Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh wasn't a success with debut film Saawariya in 2007. However, he did manage to pick up the Filmfare Best Male Debutante trophy for his role in the film.
His subsequent movie Bachna Ae Haseeno turned both the masses and critics in his favor and did well at box office. Wake Up Sid and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani were successful at the box office although both films got mixed responses. 2010 witnessed release of his projects Anjaana Anjaani opposite to Priyanka Chopra and Rajneeti.
Abhay Deol is another talented new actor who is famous for his different choice of films and roles. Unlike any other new actor, he chose Socha Na Tha in 2005 for his first role. This film did not evoke mass interest and went unnoticed. His movie Oye Lucky Lucky Oye in 2008 was well appreciated by the audience and brought him good responses for his performance.
In Anurag Kashyap's film Dev D, his excellent performance was praised and took his career to a new level. He will be seen in forthcoming Hindi movies Rajshri Ojha's Aisha and Zoya Akhtar's Running with the Bulls.
