By Marlene Blevins

There are a lot of wonderful books these days and most of them are in different genres ranging from from romance, horror and puzzles. Most people like to read mystery books because it is more engaging than any other books. You will think of the puzzle on how to get it solved if you are actually there.

Knowing this, more authors are more focused on creating materials that help reader get that surprising experience commonly obtained in a puzzle based material. This sort of genre can be very challenging especially if you are new to it. You will be making your very own puzzle problems and at them same solve it in an interesting way. This factors are commonly present in most of the best mystery book series available today.

You might wonder, what are the factors that makes a great mystery books. Well first of all, the main factor there is the story line itself. The story should be great enough and properly structured. This mains that the clues should be quite vague and everything should be revealed in a way that the reader would not expect.

This story structure should catch the readers attention by providing exciting events and puzzling questions. It should be as create and mysterious as long as possible so that it you can hold the readers attention and keep them reading. Characters should not be reveled instantly, make something like a transition.

Your main goal is to keep the readers hanging. This means that you should left some mysteries every end of the chapter. It will make the person who reads the material what is going to happen in the next chapters. Which means that they will keep reading it until the end of the book. Do not too focus on giving out mystery though but also add some fun.

Characters is as important as the story line. Knowing this fact, you should properly consider the attributes of a certain character. Depending on your story, you should make sure that it is cool enough and not too dumb because most readers would not like it. They are more into a detective like intellect.

Plot twist is the juice of the story. This is the part of the book that most people will remember. Ensuring that this part is beautifully crafted should be the goal of the author. Of course, the twist should not be too obvious.

Not being obvious does not mean you do not give clues. You can still give clues but keep it in a minimum. A twist that are too out of this world or out of topic is not beneficial. This is why clues are somewhat important because this will make your twist make sense.

Keep in mind that the main factor that sets the mystery category aside from all other genres is the added attribute of surprise. Always make sure that this attribute is always there. Also, you should make sure that the readers can engage and relate with the character that you are talking about. You can do this by providing attributes that are common to every individual.
