Ibiza lineups 2012 revealed

By Ingrid Wallender

My hands are shaking, my pulse has quickened and my mouth has gone dry. This is purely aligned with the fact that I have spent the last few hours researching line-ups for Ibiza this summer, and it probably goes without saying that they beggar belief in their awesomeness. I am also smug in the knowledge that my tickets are booked and I'm landing on those white sands in seven weeks and counting. I believe the term I'm searching for is 'GTFI,' to place it appropriately into the linguistic context of our Facebook overlords.

I can't flippin' wait! For the intellectual techno fiend there's Papa Sven reigning supreme over Mondays at Cocoon Amnesia, with legends of 4/4 ranging from the likes of Hawtin, Villalobos, Loco Dice, Raresh and Dubfire. We will all covet our favourites, like Lecter with a particularly delectable Starling. The point is, my God, what a collection of hypnotically entrancing artists under one giant cavernous roof, on one night, every single week!!! I think I've died and gone to clubbing heaven, which is basically just Ibiza anyway (as discussed in Paragraph One).

You can get elegantly wasted with Pete Tong, David Guetta and Erick Morillo dominating Pacha. Commercial house and electro beats abound and this is the place to be seen to be beautiful. Cocktails, cherries and pure glamour will be the order of the day and night, and if you're a monster who offends the mirror, forget about it. For the indie kids at heart who can't live without at least a little guitar, there's Ibiza Rocks. Here Ed Sheeran, Tinie Tempah, Paulo Nutini and tons more massive artists will be tearing it up with stomping live gigs every Wednesday, so get involved.

Come on, someone has to be realistic about David Guetta. The man is a fraud. He's running arguably the biggest night on the whole island, called (cringingly) F**k Me I'm Famous at Pacha and the fellow wouldn't know a decent tune if it smacked him in the mouth. And I dearly wish it would. And what's Ibiza Rocks about? If the proles want to see Bloc Party, let them eat cake in Magaluf or Malia, or wherever Hell is these days. Ibiza is dance, dance is Ibiza. End of story.

I'm running out of room so I will add that David Guetta is continuing worldwide domination with F**k Me, I'm Famous at (where else) Pacha on Thursdays, Pete Tong is there on Fridays and Erick Morillo is floating about somewhere as well. Oh and Sankeys is doing pretty well out there second time round with incredible nights like Carnival hosting too many DJ's to name. Now, please excuse me as I'm off to score another day off the calendar countdown, to what will surely be the season of a lifetime in Ibiza.
