The Transformers return for another blockbuster

By Scott Baker

Transformers: Dark of the Moon brings back Optimus Prime and the rest of his Autobots team for the third part of Michael Bay's big robot battle extravaganza.A secret spaceship hidden deep inside the Moon holds secrets from Cybertron's past that threaten's the Earth's very existence. The villanous Decepticons race to the moon to uncover the ship's secrets for themselves.

Bumblebee, Ratchet, and Ironhide once again join Optimus Prime in the never-ending fight against the Decepticons.Silverbolt, Sideswipe, and Mirage make their first major appearance in the franchise.Making things interesting for the Autobots is the appearance of Sentinel Prime, one of the strongest Autobots previously thought dead.Expect to see all of these characters featuring on new Transformers tees.

Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) returns to aid the Autobots and the U.S. Government fight against the new alien threat.Megan Fox is gone, replaced by model-turned-actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley who plays Sam's new love interest Carly Miller.Returning actors include John Turturro, Josh Duhamel, and Tyrese Gibson.

Music band Linkin Park's single Iridescent will be the theme song of the new movie. The popular rock band also provided the theme songs for the first two movies with the singles What I've Done, and New Divide.American rock band Paramore will also contribute to the movie's soundtrack.

Hasbro's Transformers toy line in the 1980s and the subsequent television series and animated movie inspired the Dreamworks series. The Transformers movie franchise has grossed over $1.5 billion all over the world, and that success has transferred to the Hasbro toy line as well.New toys based on the updated robot models have been selling well, and likewise for the video game adaptations released concurrently with the movies. Sales of Transformers tees have also sky rocketed thanks to the success of the movies..

The success of the movies can be seen by the number of kids wearing Transformers tees.Future Transformers movies may not include director Michael Bay, but the highly-successful series will continue.Explosions, explosions, and more explosions are the trademark of director Michael Bay, as seen in his other works Armageddon, Bad Boys, and The Rock.
