Is Techno Mainstream Music Today?

By Jack Wogan

Techno music has been considered underground music for many years and for some this is still the case in 2011. However more and more pop singers have started to introduce in their songs techno vibes in order to increase their popularity among teenagers.

It seems that there is a current trend going on in the music industry world right new. More and more singers are trying to come up with some new ways of convincing fans to come to their shows and buy their CD's. It might just be that Berlin techno lovers are not particularly fond of this situation but we should admit that changes are a sign of evolution. We could safely say that singers today are definitely on a changing path as more and more artists seem to be looking to introduce different vibes in their music. Fans seem to be more than impressed with the new additions as some of the songs have actually sky rocketed in the Billboards.

Some songs actually have more success than others and have become hits ever since they were launched, such as Katy Perry: E.T, Britney Spears: Till the world ends, Lady Gaga: Judas, Taio Cruz feat. Travie McCoy: Higher etc. Of course, they are still pop songs but the techno vibes are there and everyone can hear them and appreciate them (or not!) Surely techno music lovers are surely not going to appreciate any of these tracks, however one thing is for sure, techno is starting to become mainstream.

This sudden change seems to have happened as Lady Gaga is collecting more and more fans these days. It is like she is making the rules and the others have to follow if they don't want to be left behind. She must have inspired a lot of people through her outfits and her singing but also through the professional she seems to be. Her music colleagues are really impressed with her big success and maybe this is why she has been doing duets with almost every big singer from the pop music.

It might just be that the techno and pop music are fusing in some ways. Nevertheless, it is safe to say that none of the fans are going to change sides any time soon. Regardless of the type of music you like to listen to, you should make sure that you learn a little bit about all music genres. This will help you recognize all the influences in the music tunes and also it might raise your appetite to listen to something new.
